PassionsHow many times have you heard songs, checked out the lyrics & then started singing it only to discover, the words are wrong! Ultra let-down!
So if you are in search of lyrics, but struggle to find they align correctly with the actual song, check out Vocalnesta. You'll discover a few of my favourite artists with links to their websites. Really appreciative of the gifts I have & one of them is that I LOVE to sing! It brings me a lot of happiness in times when life has knocked you a curve ball & you struggle to see the light. You too have a purpose in life & I believe entertaining is one of my passions I need to showcase to the world ... here's some others I love! Songs to come ...It would be nice to dedicate time to sort webpages for the following songs ... this ever growing list is only a snippet of the ones I know ...
Embrace Your Passion!13 June 2016: Have just found my wedding entrance song! Absolutely fallen in love with Celine Dion - I Love You. Remember singing this as a teen all those years ago, but it wasn't until rediscovering it again last week that my original entrance song got bumped for my new fav! Time to put a ring on it!
13 April 2016: Been a long time coming sorry. Things put on the back burner yet again. Had a handful of songs on repeat over the last couple of weeks. Got together with some amazingly talented muso's, 1st practise & they sound like the Real McCoy! WOW, WOW! They're freakin' awesome!!!! Just sucks that their taste doesn't slot into my wheelhouse. I must say, it's been challenging learning "boy songs" that I rarely took any notice of because they were in the mainstream pile that every Joe Bloggs can sing to. No lea way to move if you stuff up the lyrics, cos the crowd will know the songs! Arrggh, no pressure, 3 more practises before gig time! Wish us luck!
27 June 2015: Invited to sing 3 nights in a row, but my heart wasn't in it; it hurts wasting my passion at home! Rediscovered Toni Childs - Stop Your Fussin', the 4th day on & found my voice again; I've really gotta follow my happiness! So here's me taking that huge leap of faith!
03 April 2015: So the grinding of day-to-day life takes over & your passions are put to one side, but when you revisit the things that make you happy, you wonder why you don't focus on them more often!
07 February 2015: Big 4-0 TODAY! Busy as day, venue looked awesome, LOVE organising without over spending! Mate flew over from Oz just to come party - sooo coool! Had a fab night out, got spoilt rotten by close friends & loved ones! So glad I finished up with the choir though, no spare time at the moment with the season starting.
26 July 2014: Well who would've guessed that I'd join a choir again, but listening to the harmonies on Monday, I knew I was in the right place; I slotted in real easy, baritones here I come!
08 June 2014: Half a year later, life's full on & singing will always bring me happiness! Rediscovered some oldies that were replaying in my sleep after just a hours worth of singing, man had to add these to the list ... time to clean up the site!
8 December 2013: It's amazing how life's turmoils dissipates as fast as it reared it's ugly head! I'm still in awe as to how quickly my life's changed for the better, I'm sooo thankful, it's awesome! I gift love
& happiness to each & all of you! 22 September 2013: Can't believe this Kiwi girl's only 16, good on her for doing so well at such a young age & staying true to her own style; love grooving to her songs, especially Lorde - Royals.
18 September 2013: Came across a CD I fell in love with years ago ... Now if you want something mellow, check out Tina Arena's CD, Don't Ask. Talented as! This chicks got the looks to match amazing vocals; catchy songs to listen to when you wanna chill out. Yup latest addiction revisited again!
24 August 2013: Felt like listening to some mellow music today ... The Breeze radio station has been on all day. Forgotten all the good sounds from days gone by.
23 August 2013: Gees I crack myself up sometimes! Jot songs down everywhere then discover them months later ... awesome, list is getting bigger!
17 August 2013: It's amazing how your day of stress can change just by taking some time out to sing ... couple hours later & all your worries are washed away like magic! Found a few songs I forgot I knew; yay, more to add to the list!
09 August 2013: Was in the mood to harmonise while being serenaded by my mate belting out tunes from The Eagles era. You forget your brain is a walking collection of lyrics, until the click to the next song ignites your memory & voila hours full of fun!!
29 July 2013: WOW, been sifting through some songs I haven't heard in awhile & came across this one, Dixie Chicks - Not Ready To Make Nice. Natalie rocks this version! Love it, can do, adding to the list!
14 July 2013: Struck gold with this oldie, love how my vocals sound so sultry in this song ... The Carpenters - Touch Me When We're Dancing. Oh yes, my new song on repeat!
30 March 2013: Was out Poraiti way celebrating a 60th Birthday at the beautiful Sanctuary Gardens when what do I see? A chick setting up her sound system ... karaoke time anyone? Man do I need to get myself setup or what?! My niece asked me to sing & who would I be if I didn't obey? She did use her manners after all! LOL, entertained the crowd for the rest of the arvo! Even got Pop's up for a sing-song! WOW! Never thought I'd see the day, seems people need liquid courage sometimes! Hehehe. Coaxed my brother to sing with me, which is always nice. Tackled, The Black Eyed Peas - Shut up not bad for first timers! Got told off during the song, by his nearly 4-year old son ... didn't realise he'd take offense to us saying "shut up" so often! Too cute!
Upcoming Likes ...Catchy tunes that tickled my fancy while passing through!

EventsLooking for Band Members25 May 16: After scouting for some seriously talented muso's in the Bay, have come across some serious talent; an amazing drummer who's feet fly as fast as his hands do around the kit, a lead guitarist who gets down & grungy on the drums as well & a keyboardist moonlighting as a bass guitarist! Had to learn some "boy songs" recently, but who wouldn't with an amazing band to play with??!
Would love to tackle sounds from the pop, soft rock, country & generally good music from all walks of life that gets the crowd up & dancing! Love to entertain, add singing into the mix & WOW, dream come true! So if you enjoy a bit of The Eagles, Heart, Paramore, Lady Antebellum, P!NK, Shania Twain etc ... look us up! PACIFIC OCEAN 23 June 2013 23 June 2013: The Atrium, holding 800 people was where the Karaoke Finals was on board the Pacific Pearl cruiseliner. No practice, but still knocked it outta the park with Deniece Williams - Let's Hear It For The Boy. Oh yeah, was crowned Number 1, thanks to our 3 awesome judges ... alright, can I get a job as part of the entertaining crew?! They know talent when they hear it! LOL! Couldn't have had anything to do with me taking my heels off first ... ship was swaying a bit & I needed to ground myself before entertaining; was doing the diva stint & had the crowd laughing! Fun night out! Ah making memories with my Buddy Noelle; LOVE IT!
22 June 2013: Just for fun, my roomie & I decide to enter the Karaoke Competition on board the Pacific Pearl cruiseliner. My mate dedicated a song to her Papa while I sung Alicia Keys - If I Ain't Got You. The karaoke hostess said that that was the best version she'd ever heard being sung like Alicia! Thank you, thank you! Awesome singers were out that night & two of us get to go through based on the cheers from the crowd & yup that was my mate Noelle & I! Hehehe, oh yeah bring on the finals!

HASTINGS 23 March 2013 23 March 2013: Seems everyone always wants a piece of me when I need to be prepping to entertain, eek, no pressure & seems no support either, why did The Mission Concert have to be on the same day??!!! Sad to be me! Bugger it, don't care, I'll make new friends! Songs setup on CD? Check! Also on USB? Check! Practice chucked in for good measure? Check, check, check! WOW! Now this is what I'm used to, singing in front of a crowd ... nearly 3000 people here! 15 min slot to do 4 songs ... time to entertain!
Whanau-oke
Amazing acoustics at the Soundshell!
Soundshell
NAPIER 22 February 2013 22 February 2013: Vocals tender from over-use syndrome & yet "Immortality" on repeat so I can sing it in my head! Roll on the evening, I'ma ready!
Rock on up at The Soundshell half an hour early ... hhmm have we got the right day? Seems so ... sound system setup, odd organiser floating around ... ok, so WHERE'S THE PEOPLE? Crisp Friday evening may do that to an event, but then I only heard about it the day before, hhmm judgement call ... do I save my vocals for tomorrow or do I ... WAIT! WHAT did that person say over the mic? Cool prizes to be won in the karaoke competition? Ok, looks like we're staying! Hehehe, hey if I get to sing & enjoy myself with the possible chance of winning a freebie at that? I'm in! People had signed up way before I had & yet it seemed no one's interested in the top 4 spots ... oh well I don't mind ... I put my name first! Nek minit, they're looking for me ... seems they had drama's with their karaoke system & the new one that's arrived doesn't have CD or USB facilities - "Sorry, can't do Celine tonight, so here's the book, pick another song to sing yeah?" In amongst this, they're calling me up, OMG, I'm still looking for a song, eeekkk! At least I'll have the words on the screen to back me up, yes? Found one - hhmm very appropriate to how I'm feeling at the time! Heart - Stranded, love singing this while my mate drums ... oh well, this one's for him! NOOOO! Where's my words???? There I am totally going off memory - uh oh, haven't sung this one in AGES!!!! Oh well, I'll wing it! WOW, vocals sound AWESOME in the dome! Loads fun! ACED IT, LOVED IT, had cars winding down their windows at the crossing just to listen! LOL! Too funny! If anyone is given the opportunity to sing there, DO IT! Primo nite - scored a PSP for my efforts, thank you, thank you, went home a-buzzing! 21 February 2013: Space still available for the Whanau-oke stint! Ok then, no pressure ... just a day to hunt down the background music, check the lyrics are correct, learn the song, practice the phrasing & breathing ... urgh Celine, am I worthy enough to sing you? Limping through; oh bring it on!
20 February 2013: Heard an ad over the airwaves encouraging people to come sing for their supper over at the Soundshell in Napier ... THE SOUNDSHELL?? The acoustics there must sound AWESOME!!!!! Two days before the due date ... can I do it??? Of course I can!!! The only downfall ... I'm already singing over at the Flaxmere Festival the day after! Urgh I so wanna do it! BUT, another catch, you must sing a Bee Gees song, since their playing over at The Mission on Saturday! The Bee Gees??!! There's some artists that I clearly stay away from & yup Bee Gees are in an elite group on their own! Oh man! Then I remembered the one they did with Celine Dion ft The Bee Gees - Immortality. Ok ... this could be a possibility!
Break from Uke Nights ...Mid June 2012: Not too long after the 60's night out, my son was critically ill with a rare sinus infection that seeped through the bone & ended up covering 20% of the surface of his brain. He was shipped to the Neurosurgical Department in Starship Children's Hospital & Auckland became our home for the next 5 weeks. 3 specialist teams, numerous drugs & 24 hr close monitoring along with regular CT & MRI scans, kept my boy from having his brain cut open. On a plus side for his trouble, my boy got to meet Justin Bieber & Selena Gomez in the process & thanks to the amazing teams that saved my boys life, he was well enough to be shipped back to Hawke's Bay Hospital where he continued 3 more weeks on antibiotics & 2 weeks recovering at home before returning back to school, looking just like the same kid his mates remembered. Amazing how things can change in an instant! Makes you acknowledge life is too short; drop all the excess baggage weighing you down & focus on the things that bring you happiness & success! I still keep an eye out on what's going on over at Uke Night every month, but just haven't ventured back those ways yet.
60's Theme - Uke NightThe Cabana
NAPIER 07 June 2012 Featuring CnG on the Uke's 07 June 2012: Gees the month's seem to be flying past ... 60's night showed the boys & I doing a couple of oldies but goodies: Leslie Gore - It's My Party & Connie Francis - Everybody's Somebody's Fool, loving the different sound with the ukes!
Open Theme - Uke NightThe Cabana
NAPIER 03 May 2012 Featuring CnG on the Uke's 03 May 2012: Round two: this time with a bit of practice up our sleeves before tonight! LOL! Open theme & two songs ready to go this time. The Shirelles - Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow & Ardijah - Moonlighting. Both a little sad & soppy, but still a winner overall! I could get used to coming along ... even took a ukelele with me this time around. Ok, so I dabble in playing a little, made the night go quite quickly ... loads of fun, fun, fun!
Country Theme - Uke NightThe Cabana
NAPIER 05 April 2012 Featuring CnG & Stan the Man on the Uke's 05 April 2012: Chris, an ol' work buddy of mine got in contact with me earlier in the week, interested in having a chick sing while him & his side-kick Graham, played their ukelele's ... hhmm, can't say I've sung like that yet! Still buzzing from performing last month, I agreed. Their buddy Stan wanted to gate-crash & so there the four of us were outside The Cabana doors, our first & last practice before jumping on stage that night! LOL, do I ever do anything the easy way? Nah, now where's the fun in that?!
The boys were awesome, altered the key slightly just so it sat better with my vocals. Sound had travelled way up the street & people seemed to enjoy their greeting as they entered the premises. Hehehe! With the theme being "Country", I picked an oldie I had never done in public before, but it was probably the first song I had ever learnt to sing well, Linda Ronstadt - Blue Bayou. WOW - outcome from the night ... everyone a-buzzing, song rocked, boys rocked & I rocked! YES, mission complete! Flaxmere FestivalFlaxmere College
HASTINGS 10 March 2012 10 March 2012: WOW! Rocky time leading up to this huge event! It just makes my fun time even more blissful! Had met one of the organisers earlier in the week & stopped a group of islander boys in their tracks while I was auditioning, LOL, thank you, thank you! Yes, come over to the college I'll be singing there again!
Doing a couple of songs today in front of a crowd nearing 2000, yup, my biggest group to date! Woo hoo! Prepped myself as best as I could ... water check, breathing check, nerves? ... Hands stop shaking! WHAT? Gees anyone would think I haven't sung in front of crowds before! LOL, will leave those nerves at the door! Time to blow people's minds! Love hearing the background music louder than my singing; dude controlling the sound did an awesome job, makes me rock it out even more!! Everyone enjoyed themselves; went home on a high! NOTE: DO NOT OWN COPYRIGHT to Lyrics & Music, these are the property & copyright of the original artists; but appreciate the way my vocals honour these talented muso's that bring us joy through music!
